Postdoctoral Researchers

Fellowships

The Cluster regularly publishes calls for Postdoctoral Fellowships. Fellowships last from 12 to 24 months, during which fellows receive an employment contract with the University of Konstanz. During this period, Postdoctoral Fellows pursue individual research projects, for which they are also granted a research allowance to finance conference travels, research assistants etc. Fellows closely work with one of the Cluster’s Principal Investigators who acts as host and mentor. In addition to Cluster membership, fellows are also affiliated with one of the University’s departments.

Postdoctoral positions in Cluster projects and research groups

Furthermore, the Cluster offers additional postdoctoral positions within its interdisciplinary research projects in which several Principal Investigators and early career researchers work together. Like the Postdoctoral Fellows, these postdoctoral researchers are also affiliated with one of the University’s departments.
With regard to research, our employment structures ensure close collaboration between post-doctoral researchers and PIs in order to provide a supporting environment for the researchers.

Training

In addition, each semester the Cluster offers a specific training program consisting of info events, workshops, and interdisciplinary roundtable discussions related to methods of inequality research and career development.  Furthermore, postdoctoral researchers are encouraged to make use of the training and coaching offered by the University’s Academic Staff Development unit to further their academic careers. Furthermore, the Research Support unit provides advice and support on grant proposal writing.
