Collective Behaviour Field Course

Welcome to the second Collective Behaviour Field Course (CBFC) 3-17 June 2024. APPLICATION IS CLOSED!

The course application is open to students enrolled in any South African university

Studying collective behaviour in the natural environment of the animals of interest is challenging. It requires detailed knowledge of the available tools and methods for data collection and analysis. The aim of this school is to introduce the next generation of scientists to collective behaviour research as well as the tools and analytical approaches to answer their own research questions. In addition, the programs’ goal is to support the scientific community in South Africa by facilitating long-lasting links between young South African zoologists and Cluster Researchers. We want to increase the exchange between these scientific communities, promoting a more egalitarian and collaborative research environment.
