Foundation stone laid for the VCC

On July 24, 2018, the foundation stone was laid for the Centre for Visual Computing of Collectives - the new top research center for research on collective behavior at the University of Konstanz.

The VCC, which will be completed in 2021, will provide a first-class research infrastructure on eight floors. 120 behavioral biologists and specialists in data analysis will collect data from groups of animals and investigate animal collective behavior in seven special laboratories.

At an event on 24 June, Konstanz Mayor Karl Langensteiner-Schönborn, Ministerial Director Ulrich Steinbach, Rector Prof. Dr. med. Ulrich Rüdiger, Member of the State Parliament Nese Erikli, State Secretary Gisela Splett and the prospective rector Prof. Dr. med. Kerstin Krieglstein together took part in laying the corner stone for the new building.
