Speaker:

The Collective Computing Unit is happy to announce a workshop on GPU computing that will happen at the University of Konstanz on the 22nd of April. Do you know the difference between algorithms that are more suited for CPU and GPU? Do you know what docker containers are and how they can make your life easier? Are you just interested in learning new computational skills?

To register, please email Daniel S. Calovi here. Reserve your spot early by mentioning your operating system of choice; while Linux is preferred, accommodation attempts will be made for all attendees. We also welcome your suggestions for additional topics of interest.

The workshop will initially cover the following topics, which may be adjusted based on participant feedback:

  • CPU based problems vs GPU based problems
  • Utilizing Docker containers in computational projects
  • Managing container orchestration with Kubernetes
  • Setting up a Jupyter Notebook server
  • Setting up and managing a Jupyter Notebook server
  • Hands-on introduction to the CCU GPU cluster, featuring DeepLabCut
