Find out what we can do you for you – Uni KN research support, knowledge, and technology transfer and CASCB science communication information session and Q & A

Excellent research often produces knowledge, methods, and technologies that offer solutions to the major challenges of our time. Putting research results and data to practical use in society and integrating societal questions into research and teaching – in other words, the broad, bidirectional transfer of knowledge – is part of the University of Konstanz's mission.

The staff unit University Development, Research and Transfer promotes innovation and technology transfer from all departments and offers researchers and students comprehensive support and consulting services to help turn today's creative ideas and inventions into tomorrow's innovations.

The Cluster of Excellence Collective Behaviour itself hosts a science communication manager. Hereby, the Cluster of Excellence Centre for the Advanced Study of Collective Behaviour aims to communicate the research and goals to the general public through media work. The science communication manager supports the researchers in media work in order to maintain a professional approach and increase the global visibility.

We will present our diverse support services, ranging from advice on research projects with application potential, advice on research cooperation’s with external partners, and assistance in clarifying contractual and legal issues to support in finding transfer funding, consulting and support for start-ups and entrepreneurship qualification.

We are happy to address your questions and look forward to a lively exchange!

The staff unit University Development, Research and Transfer provides advice and supports academics from all disciplines at the University of Konstanz in acquiring third-party funding and when it comes to exploiting research results:

  • The Research Support team offers advice on grant proposal writing and supports postdoctoral researchers in obtaining funding for their research projects: from the first project idea to the final submission of their research proposal.
  • The Research and Technology Transfer team promotes innovation and technology transfer from all departments and offers researchers and students comprehensive support and consulting services to help turn today's creative ideas and inventions into tomorrow's innovations.

As the relevance of science communication is very central to the Cluster of Excellence Collective Behaviour, a separate position has been created within the CASCB Office Team. In consultation with the University of Konstanz's Communications and Marketing unit, press work and outreach activities are customized for the Cluster.

  • The CASCB science communication manager supports you in all kinds of press work – ranging from press releases, photos, videos, and supervising media contacts. Outreach activities for example with artists are another focus. The overarching goal is to jointly develop and implement new science communication ideas that represent the Cluster of Excellence Collective Behaviour.

Annett Giebelhausen (Research Support), Dr Anja Weidenmueller (Research and Technology Transfer), and Dr Elisabeth Böker (Science Communication, CASCB) will present the diverse support services. We are happy to address your questions and look forward to a lively exchange!

Afterwards there will be the opportunity to play the collective behaviour board games from the Out of the box project on ZT 9 (corridor)!
