The University of Konstanz is one of eleven Universities of Excellence in Germany. Since 2007 it has been successful in the German Excellence Initiative and its follow-up program, the Excellence Strategy. The Cluster “The Politics of Inequality” includes researchers from political science, sociology, economics, linguistics, psychology, law, and education studies. They study how people perceive these inequalities, how they lead to collective mobilization, and how political actors respond to them.
This Call is Funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG - German Research Foundation) under the Excellence Strategy of the German federal and state governments – EXC-2035/1 – 390681379 and is in accordance with the Bylaws for the Cluster of Excellence “The Politics of Inequality: Perceptions, Participation and Policies” of the University of Konstanz.
Available funding is an allowance to cover the total costs of the planned event(s), up to a maximum of 10,000 Euros. This may include travel and accommodation for the participants as well as organizational expenses like subcontracting the Event Management or services for digital marketing, honoraria, rent for the venue, material expenses, catering (reasonable catering according to University rules), and personnel costs (student assistants, child care).
Eligible to apply are: Members, Fellows, and Affiliated Members of the Cluster as well as internal cooperation partners of the Cluster “The Politics of Inequality” are eligible to apply for these funds.

- Application with max. 3 pages with a detailed description of the planned event(s), specific aims for the participation, description of the connection to the Cluster`s program, and detailed budget draft. The Application form and budget plan form are provided with the call.
- Statement on the requested sum(s), including the justification for the usage of the funds.
