Bridge Fellowships 2022/23

The Cluster is calling for applications for Bridge Fellowships 2022/2023.

Available Funding

Fellowship is available for a duration of 3 to 6 months per selected Fellow during the academic year 2022/23 as a part-time 65% TV-L E 13 position.
Funding is available for several fellowships.

Applications are open to young researchers that fall into one of two following categories:

  1. Doctoral researchers in the final phase of their doctoral studies or the transition period after having earned their Ph.D. until their next career step, who receive funding by the Cluster or who substantially contribute to Cluster projects and receive, entirely or in part, a scholarship or external funding.
  2. Postdoctoral researchers of the Cluster who have applied for external funding in the last three months preceding the application to this call, and need an interim financing solution until an external funding source decision has been made.

Application Process and Deadlines

To apply, please submit the following documents:

  • Updated Curriculum vitae containing information on prior employment and duration of current employment contract or scholarship (for doctoral and postdoctoral applicants).
  • Statement not longer than 2 pages on how the funds applied for are reasonable in relation to the goals defined (for doctoral and postdoctoral applicants). Please briefly explain how the proposed work contributes to the Cluster's research program.
  • Verification by the Supervisor/Host regarding the financial necessity (for doctoral and postdoctoral applicants).
  • Proof of a submitted application for external funding to obtain a follow-up position. The decision on application needs to be pending with the date of submission not more than three months before the application to this Call (for postdoctoral applicants).

Please submit your applications consisting of CV, statement, verification document by your Supervisor/Host, and if applicable proof of submitted application for external funding.

Selection Procedure

The Board will assess all applications and make a selection decision.

Selection Criteria
1. Plausibility and quality of the application.
2. Missing financial means for further financing.
3. Objectives of the transition phase are clearly defined and connection possibilities are shown/proven.
