Institution choice, uncertainty, and cooperation

This project will combine evolutionary modelling and online social experiments to address how institution choice and uncertainty affect humans’ capability and preferences in solving collective action problems. We will introduce evolutionary models and experimental setups where individuals have a choice between different institutions to play a public goods game, where the cost and return of public goods are subject to stochastic effects to study how such a choice and stochasticity affect individuals’ institution choice, risk aversion, and their capability to solve collective action problems.
