One PhD/Postdoc Position in Computer Vision / Machine Learning
The University of Konstanz has been successful in the German Excellence Initiative since 2007.
The PhD/Postdoc position will be part of the new Cluster of Excellence “Centre for the Advanced Study of Collective Behaviour” (CASCB) at the University of Konstanz, which investigates the collective behavior and associated patterns in humans and animals in an unprecedented interdisciplinary approach by applying and developing an innovative range of quantitative methods and novel technologies.
The position will be part of the research Area "Computational Methods for Measuring, Analysing and Visualizing Collective Behaviour“ within the excellence cluster. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with world-leading scientists on a new and exciting research field. More information can be found here:
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate (f/m/d) with a strong interest in computer vision and machine learning. Successful candidates will have an MSc degree in computer science or related field and ideally some experience with virtual reality environments, multi-modal sensor fusion, or real-time computer vision applications.
The focus of your work will be applied research in computer vision and machine learning to improve state-of-the-art in multi-target tracking, dynamic pose estimation, action recognition or similar fields. You already have some knowledge in VR and are enthusiastic about contributing to the development of new large hardware environments that will provide ground-breaking applications for the quantitative study of collective behaviour. You enjoy participation in hands-on experimental work and are motivated to interact with an interdisciplinary research community. If successful, your work will likely lead to highly relevant publications that form the basis for future broad applications across a range of disciplines.
The position is primarily targeted as a PhD study but also open to candidates on a junior postdoc level. The position will be available from January 2020 or upon agreement.
For more information on the research topic please contact Prof. Bastian Goldlücke (Computer Vision and Image Analysis, Department of Computer and Information Science, University of Konstanz): email@example.com
Please submit your application (CV, statement of motivation and research interests, official transcripts of education certificates) in one pdf to our Online Application Portal. The deadline for applications is December 13th 2019 or until position is filled.
